i say this as a manager, my entire job is to a.) plan and schedule hours so everything that needs to get done can get done and b.) facilitate those hours so that the plan is being executed properly and staying on schedule. if a manager consistently can’t do that, then they can’t do their job, and they’re lying to you and purposefully hiding that when they try to make their exploitation of you into something you should be proud of

Once had a manager “accidentally” schedule me a 3a-11p shift immediately followed by a 7a-3p shift. That was not a fun week
