*tunes in to inner monologue mid-rant* honestly what were they going for with Bucky and Steve if it wasn’t meant to be a gay romance first of all you cast two men who literally could’ve stepped straight out of a Tom of Finland anthology then you hit all the classic war romance movie tropes (including mutual damseling and a tragic scene involving a train), have Steve be awkward and panicked every time a woman makes a pass at him, have them both cock-block each other, have Steve himself declare that he only wants to date someone with shared life experience, and on top of that you cast ‘the sad gay boy’ actor as Bucky I mean it’s like they got Robert de Niro in and then were like ‘whaddya mean people are reading this character as scary and Italian’ if that wasn’t what you were going for then why-
