So my own take on why Venom finally decided to abandon his “mission” – to bring down his fellow Klyntarians (is this what they are called?) To Earth, take over Earth n eat all the heads…
Was not only because *OF* Eddie….but also because of these two
Maria (the homeless girl Eddie was nice to, and V’s host prior to Eddie)
Annie (Eddie’s ex fiance)
To be more accurate, the way *THEY* felt towards Eddie
For Maria;
– Eddie was nice to her, treated her like a human, talked to her and was willing to part with the little that he had so that Maria would not have to go without…while other people probably only ignore her or pretend Maria doesn’t exist…simply because she was homeless
– Eddie immediately recognise her in the lab, and tried to help/release her, eventhough he was warned “not to touch anything” and didn’t know if Maria was exposed/infected with anything dangerous
– Maria probably had feelings towards Eddie…not necessarily love, but you don’t get treated nicely by someone and not start to care about that person..especially when you have no body else that care for you
– Venom can read minds/understand people’s thoughts once they are bonded (? I think this was mentioned in the movie) and V probably see/read/understood the roles Eddie played in Maria’s life and was already pretty interested on him
– Since V’s “weakness” is his ability to be very emphatic and prefers to ‘bond’ with his host over ‘controling’ his host…having interest/feelings towards a foreign life form might have been the 1st step to his “failure” – or in this case, his “Victory in meeting his intended”
Meanwhile with Annie
V already know that Eddie and Annie was in a relationship where they care deeply for each other…Eddie has yet to let the feelings go, while Annie was in the process of letting go
When Annie hosted V, he probably read *ALL* about their romantic relationship, how Eddie used to be, what kind of person Eddie is/was from another person’s (2nd person’s) POV
Eddie’s hardships, all of his battles, the battles he’d won or lost…*ALL* the moment Eddie shared with his loving and romantic partner…including the *cough* intimate ones and their falling out..and V probably realised…he want something like that too – a relationship with an equal
So when he (stated by Annie) suggested the “Kiss TM”, he was probably curious to how it would feel and wanted to experience the feeling of ‘love’ shared between two people with strong feelings towards each other?
And when he *transfered?* from Annie to Eddie, he could probably read the emotions from both of them…and that was when his “feelings” and reason to staying at Earth was made
Sooo when V was asked “what’s the real reason you want to stay on Earth/save Earth?” (Paraphrased cuz i don’t remember the exact wording 😅)
And V said “Because of *YOU♡*, Eddie”…
It was because he was already head over heels, in love with Eddie…not only because he learned about Eddie from within, but also from TWO other human’s with *strong* feelings/emotions towards Eddie…
It also probably helps that they are both “Losers TM” and “Too Good Of A Match To Lose”…
